Chrome-Moly Steel with Teflon®/Kevlar® injection moulded liner.
McGill XMM - Racing Series Ultra High Performance Racing Series range features a loaded slot style of rod end that was introduced to the market in 1995. The body is machined with a significant groove going all the way around the interior of the body. The ball is then inserted into the machined slot and a Teflon®/Kevlar® material is injected. Serving as a liner to keep dirt and debris out, the Kevlar also lubricates the ball. In addition to providing added strength, the injection moulded race also won’t “pound out” like traditional PTFE (Teflon®) liners, increasing the longevity of your rod ends. The body is heat treated and is made from Chrome Molybdenum for excellent strength and corrosion resistance. This is simply the best rod end design for most motorsport applications.
Rod End - XMRM18x2mm
BALL: 52100 Bearing Steel ~ Heat Treated ~ Hard Chrome Plated ~ Precision Ground
RACE: Injection Moulded Kevlar Reinforced with PTFE ~ Self-Lubricating ~ Self-Sealing
BODY: Chrome Molybdenum ~ Heat treated ~ Corrosion Resistant
EXCLUSIVE FEATURES: Thicker Body for Increased Tensile Strength ~ High Radial Load Capability ~ Metal to Metal Support for Heavy Shock Loads
XMM Range - Ideal for Motorsport and Marine Applications.
Half Nut - JNRM18x2mm
McGill half nuts are manufactured to be within excellent tolerances. These are commonly used for motorsport when securing rod ends to link bars. As the nut is half the thickness, it allows for maximum adjustment.
Insert - INSM18Rx2mm
McGill threaded inserts are manufactured to be within excellent tolerances. These are commonly used for motorsport when making linkage bars.
* Carbon Steel 1045
C45 is a medium carbon steel is used when greater strength and hardness is desired than in the "as rolled" condition. Extreme size accuracy, straightness and concentricity combine to minimize wear in high speed applications. Turned, ground and polished.
